The Villages of Bath and Savona lie within the town, as does the hamlet of Kanona. The Village of Bath is the county seat. The Town of Bath depends on the southern part of "Finger Lakes Wine Country," an area kept in mind for its beautiful lakes, scenery and capability to produce quality wines and grapes.
The City of Rochester and its airport are a one and one-half hour drive. The Corning-Elmira Regional Airport can be reached in less than thirty minutes, traveling east on I-86. New York City, Philadelphia, PA and Cleveland, OH are approximately 5 hours away by cars and truck. The advancement of previous Path 17 (east-west) into an interstate highway, now understood as I-86, created 4 interstate interchanges in the Town of Bath: Exit 37 at Kanona, Exit 38 at Bath town and Exit 39, Bath town and Exit 40, at Savona.
Bath is less than 20 miles west of the intersection of I-86 (east-west) and I-99, a significant north-south connection through Pennsylvania. The Town of Bath is bisected by the Conhocton River valley in a northwest to southeast instructions. Outside the Conhocton River Valley, and the valleys of its major tributaries, which are usually flat, the town is identified by high slopes and narrow valleys.
A comprehensive series of wetlands exists along State Path 226, outside Savona, and is related to Mud Creek which drains pipes Lamoka and Waneta Lakes north of the town. Tourism: Wineries, Lakes, Museums Bath is close to lots of preferred tourist locations, such as the various wineries along Keuka Lake, the Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, and the Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) in Corning.
Bath is within a one-hour drive of 2 excellent New york city State Parks, one in Branchport at Keuka State Park and another at Watkins Glen State Park. Close-by Watkins Glen boasts a nationally-recognized NASCAR roadway course where many summertime race occasions are held.
